Smile SRS light problem

Hi Guys ! Sometimes when we start Our 2003 Honda Odyssey the SRS light (Safety restraint System light ? ) will stay on when it does I turn off the ignition , start it again and usually the SRS light will then go out .I am wondering if this could be a more serious problem or just a dirty switch ? or what may be doing this ? Thanks B0B

it could be a sensor in the bumper, dirty pick up off the drive axle. this happened to my 07 Fit. I had the dealer fix it but was brand new under warranty.

Thank You ! ACMech52 I never thought of either of those things I appreciate your reply . I Just finished today soldering a crack in the top tank of the radiator in A 1929 Ford . Quite a contrast
working on that then having the SRS problem in the Odyssey . The cars we have today are really SO much better more comfortable ,reliable and safer . B0B

older cars were good, we could work on them our selves, newer ones almost always to the shop. when you trouble shoot srs, need to disconnect battery for safety.

My 2000 Accord had the SRS light come on,took it to my mechanic and it was a seatbelt sensor, I have been putting off fixing it because we rarely drive it but I need to. Hopefully your problem is simple.

Yes WE bought a 2016 Accord (Used) and Love it . Bought the Accord because the 2003 Odyssey has been such a good vehicle and is now 15 years old so now we have 2 Hondas and the 29 Ford . We drove the Accord over 3000 miles on vacation got an average of 37 MPG We drove the speed limits going 85 MPH on some of those freeways out west . It has the 4 cylinder engine and CVT transmission . Surprising how much acceleration it has and NO shifting of the transmision . Your forum Name Bucwheat brings back memories I worked at Bendix Aerospace in South Bend Indiana and one of my Co-workers called just about everyone BucWheat I am thinking this was because he could not remember names .
Thanks for your comments . B0B
