Default Sticky shifter

Hello! First post here and I’m just trying to gauge what could possibly be wrong before i take my car in. First things first i have a 2014 honda civic with about 113k on it and it has an automatic cvt transmission. I’ve noticed that when my car goes from park to drive or reverse or from reverse to drive basically any gear that requires moving my shifter down i have to put extra effort into do it almost like there’s resistance or it’s sticky but when i move it up there’s no issue at all and goes right up no resistance. i do live in a city where i have to park downhill sometimes and only just started engaging my parking brake prior to shifting into park and i noticed sometimes it doesn’t have the resistance when i use my parking brake properly but sometimes it still does. not entirely sure what’s going on. when i mentioned it to my regular mechanic he said i could’ve spilt something down that and its just making it sticky but i don’t know anymore.
