Default Type R...Squealing brakes

Hey everyone,

I just purchased a 2019 type R. It had 10 miles on it at time of purchase.
After a couple days the brakes started squealing when I was braking at low speed to a complete stop. A loud squeal not just a light squeak. I called the dealership and they said to wait a bit to see if they would correct themselves.
I brought the car in at 930 miles for other work and asked them to address the brakes which are still squealing. They said they would take a look.
They did not do any removal of brakes parts and have simply said that they are high performance brakes and will squeal and I should have been told that by my saleswoman.

My questions are...
Is what I'm being told true?
Is it reasonable they would be still squealing if everything is mounted properly and the parts ore good?
Can I expect them to squeal indefinitely?
Is there a way to remedy the situation that they haven't done?

I already have very strong evidence that this dealership is VERY poor with its communications, standards and custom service. (I have had employees bitch about other departments to me and play the blame game).

This car is brand new and I'm facing a very unreliable/untrustworthy dealership so I'm looking for some smart inside info/strategies.

Thank you

Non sense. If done right then brakes should not squeal
High performance should squeal even less

No, you are being BSed.
Not reasonable. Yes, they will squeal indefinitely if you done fix it.
Yes, there is a way to remedy this. Complain until the dealership fixes this.

Would have to look at the brakes ...
But, take the pads out.
Grease the back of the pads and the place where the ears of the pads move in the caliper bracket.
This should stop the squealing.
If it doesn't then there is brake hardware which will help.
Some brake pads come with them already
Check to make sure guide pins are sliding free but not too much.

Good luck.

welcome the forum. did some research on the 19 type r with 306 hp and 290 lbs of torque. Honda manufacture used the benbro high performance brake pads with a dual cylinder caliper. these high performance brake pads produce a lot of brake dust from 250-600+ miles they will create brake squeal. if you don't drive fast and do hard braking, you can change over to duralast max pads.(autozone) they are quieter and brake smoother. but if used hard, they will have brake fade, or soft pedal. if you decide to go to the duralast max pads, you need to order the 2017-2018 wrx-sti pads. same pads. or you can go to hawk hps street ceramic pads. again quiet, but only under heavy braking at performance driving will there be some brake fade.

Welcome in ,I have a 2013 Corvette Grand Sport,I went through the same problem ,when you buy a new car you shouldn't have to deal with brakes squealing,I belong to a large Corvette club and we have several Z06 and Grand Sports that have the same issue and Chevrolet says the same thing, high performance brakes will squeal mostly because of the dust,I spent big money going with the best ceramic pads,it killed the dust issue but I still have the squeal. I just live with it.
