02 Accord Door Handle Broken--HELP
My door handle on the rear drivers side is broke, maybe?? It kinda feels like it may have slipped off the rod or clip. But, I have the child lock on so I cannot open it from the inside. Does anyone know how to take the door panel apart without being able to open the door??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a similar problem with my 1998 Honda Accord. It has central locking and the rear drivers side passenger door cannot open from the outside. I also have child locks on and so an unable to open the door from the inside. I have looked on the internet and there are sugesstions to remove the door panel from the inside and drill the lock catch. This will cause some damage.
Labour alone quoted at a dealer is 4 hours.
I would like to know if there is some other solution.
Thanx for your help.

nagem and karl1234: welcome to the forum. I had a 90 accord with the drivers door lock broken. could not unlock or open from the out side, could not open from the inside. I had to take the driver seat out, the door inside panel off, and back drill the lock latch to free the door to open. It took me 6 hrs to do the job, and 35.00 in parts. I would not suggest you do this unless you do work on cars a lot and have the knowledge of a door lock backwards. This is how you will be looking at when you drill. Unless someone else has had a better quicker way to fix this, i beleive the dealer's 4 hrs is good. I now can do it in 4 hrs or less but not looking forward to doing it.
Hi,
Thanx for your response.
I have been informed that the rear seat will have to be removed in order to gain access to remove the rear door panel and then sort the problem out.
I was hoping for a quick, easy and cheap solution - but obviously there isn't one. It's just gonna take a lot of blood and sweat and timeto rectify this problem. Once again thanx for your help.
