2000 Accord dying immediately
I have a 2000 v6 accord with 220,000 miles on it. I've been having an issue with odd rpm's on start-up for quite awhile now, dealership couldn't find anything wrong so I took it in to a mechanic and they found 4 of 6 cylinders misfiring.
I had that issue fixed, and they also replaced the plugs. Since then (roughly 2 weeks ago) the car has twice had the following issue:
After being driven for awhile, especially on the highway, the next time I try to start it it starts up but then dies immediately. I took it in to the shop who did the work on the cylinders, they put a new battery in.
When I drove it from Orange County to San Diego, about the fifth time I tried to start it after arriving in San Diego it happened again. Starts up fine but then dies immediately. The lights remain on on the dash, etc, so I don't think it's a battery problem. Then if I wait about 10-15 minutes it will start up just fine again.
After doing some research here I'm thinking it could be either a bad ignitor inside the distributor, or a failing main relay. Any thoughts?
