2000 Accord Misfiring
Hello All,
Just wondering if anyone had some advice for a 2000 Accord that is misfiring. It has a problem with water in the fuel line during winter that causes misfiring. (I live in New England.) I usually add dry gas with every fill up to prevent it. I haven't done so since March and it's been running fine. Monday, the engine light started blinking, it wasn't idling correctly, and it had very little power. I asked the auto parts store for their diagnostic reader. It came back as misfiring on all cylinders. I added dry gas to it and ran it for a bit. When I started it this morning nothing had improved. I had filled up Saturday evening. We did have a drastic drop in temperature from Sunday to Monday.
I had it tuned up in January of 2012. I looked in my Chilton book and saw that it says that a spark plug left in too long can cause the symptoms that the Accord is having. So I'm not sure if the misfire is being caused by something in the fuel line (filter?, etc.) or by the spark plugs. Has anyone had a misfire issue with a 2000 Accord? If so, were you able to identify and correct the problem? I any case, any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
