i swapped the mass air flow at manifold today, but it is still doing the same thing. While idling, the car idles at 1000 rpms and then revs to 2000 rpms constantly. while driving, you dont feel it, but if cruise is on you can still feel it. Need help with diagnostics, please.

Sounds more like a faulty TPS.
But, would test and not guess.

 

check to see if the exhaust gas regulator is sticking due to carbon build up.
