Default 2005 Accord transmission service options

When I let off the accelerator, I hear a grinding noise that's coming from somewhere in front and below me. Even slight acceleration will make the noise cease.
They checked it out at the dealership the other day and they said they believe it's a transmission problem and recommend a transmission replacement for $4600.
Do I have any other options for getting a transmission fixed?
Can I have the transmission fixed / rebuilt, or does anyone install rebuilt transmissions?
Any input is greatly appreciated!

welcome to the forum. call around and find what transmission shops work on Honda transmissions, with the best warranty. also ask any of your friends who might recommend a good trans shop. you can also look for a good used transmission, about 600.00 and few hundred to remove and install. also look up the shops reviews to make sure customers are happy with the shops work. ( Honda dealer transmissions are expensive due to the work done and the shop rate is high with lots of overhead ) arco transmission shops are not recommended to often.
