Default 2014 Honda Ex-L, flashing CEL, P219A

Hi all,

First time post in the forum. I have a 2014 Honda EX-L Accord that has around 100k mileage. Recently, when I start the car, when I press on the accelerator the car sputters and shakes during the first 5 minutes. I’ve encountered a situation where upon accelerating (up to 40-60mph), the car sputters for a few seconds and then the check engine light starts flashing. When I turn the car off and restart it, the engine light disappears and drives normally. The car runs normally otherwise after it warms up (e.g. the temperature reaches halfway on the gauge).

I haven’t noticed any particularly combinations of events that lead to sputtering, but it happens even at low speeds. I’ve taken the car into the mechanic and there are no error codes logged into the computer despite the flash engine sign being on. The spark plugs were intact and the mechanic switched the cylinders around (which has alleviated the problem for a few weeks, but has since returned). I've since then also replaced the spark plugs (since it had 100k) and changed the throttle (perhaps an unnecessary change) but that has not alleviated the issue.

I bought a OBD2 scanner and hooked it up to the car. While it's driving, a P219A error code pops up. Any ideas what might be happening?
If there are any insights or people facing similar issues, let me know and I’d love to hear about it.

Thanks!

Sounds like a vacuum leak. When engine is hot the leaks seals due to expansion of parts???

Flashing CEL is misfire and will set a code.
You need a scan tool that works or the ability to test the PCM for errors.
