20k minder B insane price. whats important?
I just brought the used Accord I bought from Hertz Rentals in for a checkup. That minder B light was on. This dealership in OKC, OK (sitting here now) just informed me the price tag was $278.00.
Supposedly it needs lots of tuneup crap done that my 2000 Civic didn't need until 100k miles.
Why's the price tag so high? Is it important to really care that much? Supposedly it would need it once again at 30k miles.
This car will freaking be unaffordable with all of the maintenance should it continue to be this way.
I would assume oil changes would suffice?
Anyone with advice on maintenance scheduling please let me know what to do on this. I feel used and abused by Eskridge Honda for misinformation prior to service.

I have an 02 civic and 07 Fit, When the 02 was under warranty, I sent my car to Robertsons Palmdale Honda. oil and filter change929.00) each 5k and at he 30k check, cost 239.00 average. 45k 159.00 After the warranty was over, I did my own oil and filters each 5k. your car if under warranty you can send to any oil change place but keep a record. each year change your trans fluid auto or standard, each 45k change your rad antifreeze. If you go to my honda, American Honda Site and register your car, you can keep track of the maintenance and will show you what is needed. Sorry for a long info. email me if you have any more questions on warranty or maintenance. Honda in a 5 year cost with all othr cars has the least cost and the highest resale ( unless someone steals the car. ) your car will last for 350k miles easy if maintained. Highest milage to day I have seen is a 95 accord 500,000 miles and running, weak, starting to smoke a bit but original engine, new paint job.
