Default 88 Accord won't start

One mechanic says gas tank is rusted out and fuel line clogged. The tank was not leaking and pressure released when gas cap opened? Should I believe him and can tank be blasted out and replaced? Thanks

Welcome in,if fuel is getting to the filter check it for debris,if no fuel is present it could be the fuel pump.you could drop the tank and take a look.

Is your Accord an LX (Carbuerated) or LXi with Fuel injection? If its the Carbuerated model, they commonly had fuel pump failures. The LXi had more issues with the Fuel injection "Main Relay".. or a Distributor Rotor button failure. All of these things will cause a no start situation depending on which model you have.

Hope this hels somehow.
Cheers
