Default 95 coolant temp sensor vtec motor

replaced above about month ago. Temp gauge hovers near red if sitting in traffic on hot day. Fans will not come on unless ac is on.
Any suggestions?

are you positive that 2 fans go on when the a/c is turned on, I beleive only one fan of 2 goes on with the a/c on, the other fan is suppose to come on when the water temp gets to approx 210. Check from a cold engine start and watch the temp. approx 3/4 hot, one fan is suppose to come on. if not the temp sensor is not completing the circuit to give pwr to turn the fan on, or the fan motor is burnt out. Please check from cold and come back with the results.

-OK if ac is off temp gauge goes to red area in matter of minutes no fans.
-turn ac on and both fans activate immediately

I drove around 4mos with gauge not working and i could always hear and feel motor drag with defective sensor. Since buying temp sensor from Advance Auto this start happening.

Maybe i should purchase Honda part and seethe results

Correct part is temp sending gauge switch

now i know that your fan motors are good, the thermostate sending unit is not allowing the power to the fan motor to turn on. check the thermostate sending unit to see if you have power at it. if you do have power the unit is no good. when temp gets to approx 210 the thermostate sending unit opens and continues the power to the fan to turn on and cool the rad temp down. (temp sensor might be the same unit.)
