Default 96 Accord 2.7L check engine Tachometer & Temp gauge not working

Hello,

I just bought a 97 accord and I’m tryna diagnose this thing.

the symptoms are check engine light is on, tachometer and temp gauge do not move at all, abs light on SRS light on. Car running and driving ok seems to be lacking full power, engine seemingly has light tick or tap doesn’t seem bad tho. Check engine code ran P0725 engine speed input circuit Malfunction. According to code reader the most like cause is the ignition coil.

My question is do you think this would be issues with the ECU computer or wiring going from ECU to cluster?
Do you think distributor cap or rotor could cause any of these issues or maybe bad spark plugs or faulty wiring?
Could this be related to ignition control module?

my goal is get the check engine light to go off and restore full power to the engine and have it functioning properly without replacing the whole ignition system, trying to diagnose what I’m dealing with. Any help is much appreciated thanks

welcome to the forum. P0275 code with the tach not working shows a resistor going bad in the coil.

Which is it? P0725 or P0275?
Also, a simple code reader will not give you the SRS (safety restraint system) or ABS (anti-lock brake system) diagnostic trouble codes
It will just not talk to those control modules.
