Moments ago I was driving and when I down shifted from fourth to third I got a subtle grinding / whining noice accompanied with total loss of power if I down shifted and pushed the gas the car would try to continue but was unable the grinding whining was constant through out my attempts to restart while still rolling until I lost all power within a quater mile , my fuel pump is switching on when the ignition is switched on and the car is cranking strong ?
