Default 97 accord overheating

unless the heat is on full blast the car will overheat.

ive got
mushimoto radiator
obx radiator hoses
changed the thermostat 3 times,
water pump
the fans are new

when the car idles with the heat on high, it will cool down. it only overheats when driving.

there is a 19 pound double lock radiator cap on the radiator now
im thinking if i put on a 16 pound cap, my problem would be fixed

thanks for any help

The fans are new but are they kicking on when they are suppose to. From the sounds of some the stuff you have under the hood did you ever take out the motor. If so did you remember to hook up the fan switch on the temp. sensors. Just a thought. You may even want to check your relays. Also did you get all the air out of the system Honda's hate air in the cooling system. Some of the them have bleed screws for this on the Accords they are generally hidden in between the the throttle body and the V-tec solenoid this of course depends on the year. If you have one get a 12 mm socket and extension open it up with the ENGINE OFF fill your system with coolant until it comes steady out of the bleed screw close bleed screw. put radiator cap back on.
