Default Accord 92 Ex

Hi,

I got subject car with 223000 millage and yesterday when I arrived at job did notice that there was some smoke comming out from Radiator site when pull up the hood then found the cap of Radiator lose and by that the Anti Freez water was split over near the Radiator area.

When I finished my job then took the car to home and when I reached then did check again and found again smoke from that area don't know why even the spare tank of Anti Freez water is empty now and Radiator water level is just 1" less then full.

Do I have to change the whole Anti Freez water or just make the level full and fill the spare tank.

I'm new in this forum and first post and hope to get answer quick.

Thanks in advance.

John,
I think I know what you are saying -- correct me if I'm wrong. Your radiator level is low because the cap is lose. The engine is supposed to run at a range above normal boiling temperatures. You may be steaming off the coolant. My suggestion is to get a new cap. Fill the radiator to the full level. Then, go an fill the reservoir to the cold level. I say this because the only time you want to open the radiator cap is when the engine and coolant are cool. Run the engine to normal tempurature and check the coolant level in the reservoir only. If it goes up to the "hot" level, you are fine with the cap remedy. After the engine cools -- several hours! -- check in the radiator again. The coolant should be at the same level as before. If not, you have another more expensive solution. I'm thinking a hose or waterpump leaking.
