Default A/C noise "normal"?

Hi all,

I just found this forum and have learned a lot! One think I haven't seen yet is an a/c noise. I have a 2018 touring 1.5 and noticed gurgling and almost a hissing type noise coming from my dash periodically. I took it to my dealer and they said my AC condenser was leaking and they would replace it. After they replaced it the noise went away for about a month and now I hear that kind of "hissing" noise again. Back at the dealer and now they are saying it is "normal" for this vehicle.
I hear it more just after starting it and coming to stop lights when defrost is on (a/c on), fan speed at 1 or 2 and the temp set at 69 or 70 degrees. When I turn a/c off the noise is gone.
If this is "normal for this vehicle", just curious if anyone else has this?

Thanks

And off-topic questuion.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any decent models which are capable of running during the day in sunshine as well as storing enough energy to kick in with a battery back up at night?

I have a bell fountain coming from my easyclear 3000 which does oxygenate the water somewhat but i'm thinking i perhaps need more.... Pond size approx 550 gallon.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

welcome to the forum. you might take it to another dealership to have them check it out, or see if there is another 18 touring on their lot and run their ac to see if it makes the same noise.

Welcome in,is it the type of noise you hear when you change the direction of air flow, say from floor heat to defrost?

I thought the AC condenser was out in front of the radiator
And the evaporator was inside the cabin???

Anyway, could it be a slow leak??
After they replaced the condenser, the noise went away.
Well, they filled up the AC system
The slow leak ... noise re-appears after a month.

If it is a leak then would just keep using it until the AC stops working..
That would confirm something is wrong.
Or refill the system with refrigerant
Be sure to use one with a pressure dial
Then see if the noise goes away.

Good luck
