Default Check Engine Light

My '98 Honda Accord (90,000 miles) has produced a diagnostic code related to emissions. Car is running perfect and I hate to spend the money on all the possible causes of this "code". What consequences do I face if I ignore this problem and just continue to drive? Is there a cheap / simple remedy to such an emissions related issue?

I just bought a 99 Accord w/ 115k and the check engine light came on. They said the knock sensor was broken which was about $300 at Firestone.

The accords have a common problem with EGR valve which isrelated to emission. I had the same thing with my Camaro, I`ve been driving like that for 4 years, itburns a bit more gas that`s all... but make sure that `s the problem

if you dont know what the code, or the reason of your check engine light then you can bring it to not all but almost any garage and they can dignose your problem. onece you know what the problem is, then you would knwo weather or not it is safe to drive with
