Engine Light On with Code P1607 ECM
Hi,
Any body knows what code P1607 means. Do I need a new Engine Control Module. It failed a few times with the engine light flash and now it is permanently on. I took it to the dealer befe and they told me that if it fails again; it needs to be replaced. It cost $1300 at the dealer but cost $500 at Hondaautocomputers.com or 300 to remanufacture it. Any body has any suggestions what is the right approach to take.

I have the same code coming up on my accord. From what ive been told, try to clear the code and if it comes up again than its a fault inside the computer and it needs to be replaced. you can get a ecm fairly cheap from pick n pull, but you should get the ignition switch with it(the part just after the cylinder that the key goes in). Supposedly it talks to the ecm. My question is do i have to have my original key programmed to avoid security issues because my key has a chip in it? Hope this helps man.
