Default hardwire sirius sat radio

Have been trying to hardwire my Sirius sat radio in my 08 Accord EX without success. Installed mini fuse tap in one of 2 open slots on fuse box and wired hot head from transformer to fuse tap wire. Attached ground to stud coming through the firewall but get no power. Tested transformer on my boat where I have easy access to 12v power and ground and it works fine. What am I missing ?

Default RE: hardwire sirius sat radio

hey, does this sat radio's cig power adapter a 12v or a 5-6v? look on the casing of the plug. this is important to know. some of the new adapters are 5-6v. so you have to wire into the adapter to get the correct voltage. are you using a volt meter to see if you voltage is correct at the fuse panel? use the volt meter to see if the fuse that you are using is "hot" only when the car is on or on acc. and not on constantly. don't use the stud on the firewall, make your own ground. go to the kick panel under the plastic and use a self tapping screw, that way you know you have a good ground. If you cut off the 12v- 6v adapter then you need to put it back on and solder a wire to the positive and negative inside the adapter the center is positive and the outer is negative. hope that works.
