Idle Issue with 2000 Accord
Hi,
I took my 2000 Honda V6 on a recent trip. After stopping the car for about 5 minutes (I had been driving for about 3 hours), I tried to restart the car. The car idled very roughly and stalled before I put it in gear. I tried two more times to start and the same thing happened. I started it a fourth time, threw it in drive, and gunned the gas before it could stall. It seemed to run ok, but I only drove it about a mile before reaching my desintation. The next day, the car started up fine.
There are three other things worth mentioning:
1) This problem has happened once before about 4 moths ago.
2) I think the car may also be currently be running a bit rough at driving speed.
3) The Maintenance Requirred light is on
I would love it if someone could give me a few suggestions. I was thinking maybe the fuel filter?
Thanks for your help Rob

Help for you.
It would be a good idea to change out the fuel filter. Perhaps you have an injector clogged. If you double up on any fuel additive or treatment, its said to clean out the injectors very well and the fuel system. Do this after changing the filter. Also the rough idleing and over all wierd behavior could br the TPS sensor. Attached to the throttle body. Depends on your year make and model as to if you can replace the TPS sensor only, or the complete assembly. Good luck. Also check your plugs, cap, and rotor. The corrosion that builds in the distributor cap and rotor are fital for start up with the onboard computers.
