Default Intermittent AC work

My 2008 Accord LX-P's AC is acting up. When I come to a stop cold air from AC starts blowing regular temp air and when I accelerate it blows cold. I live in NYC so I stop more then drive, LOL! Is the compressor failing? If so, can someone recommend a generic brand? OEM costs $650, out of question. I saw DENSO for about $200 on Amazon. Supposedly it's the same as the original. Is that true? Or maybe there is a remedy to this issue?
Mileage on my car is 126k.
Thanks in advance.

You are likely low on refrigerant. Have it checked.

Blowing cold air is likely that the compressor still works.
More likely there is another issue
Could be low on refrigerant?
Could be the AC and radiator fan is not turning on?
Could be something else I do not know about for example expansion valve?
But, I do not know. You will need to have it checked.
Please do not go jumping on replacing the compressor before doing the other checks on the AC system
If you wonder what those checks are then check youtube for information
Their videos can help you figure out what you are looking at.
Also acmech52 is (I believe is an ac mechanic).

I added some refrigerant. Now blows even colder but still no cool air when idle. It does cool when I accelerate when stopped.
I will investigate on the Internet. I don't trust mechanics in NYC. They are all crooks. Besides I don't have time to see them. Only have Sun off and the shops are closed then.
Thank you both for the suggestions.

Airflow through the condenser is low at a stop.

When vehicle is moving then air flows thru the radiator and condenser thus helping to make cool air.
When vehicle is stop there is little to no air flow so the condenser can not get rid of the heat.
Would chekc the cooling fans to see if they are working

Thank you all for help. The radiator fan seems to not work according to the mechanic. I will have a new one installed today. Will post the results here.
Thank you again.
