yes oem or oem replacement shocks struts are not designed to handle a two inch drop. i wouldn't go past 1.0" - 1.5" inches. look into the Eibach Pro-Kit anytime you lower on stock shocks strut s your adding stress which will reduce the life. http://www.corsportusa.com/store/cat...oducts_id=8605

I suggest looking into Megan Racing. They make a full kit which will cost a bit more but the performance will be amazing in the long run.

i would advise against Megan or anything made in china regarding suspension components. it would also depend on what brand struts the previous owner used. if there some no name ebay brand don't expect them to last long especially if lowered.

I have to disagree with you. Megan to my knowledge are not manufactured in china. And if they are, the place they are made means nothing in terms of the quality. The specs round which they are designed though.

I have used nothing but Megan components on my car for the past 6 years and I love them. I actually have a picture up here somewhere from my old 91 civic that I totaled. It had pretty much everything I could buy from megan to fit the car and the only thing that broke was the upper tower bolts on the front suspension due to the motor being crunched up and into the firewall.

And even then I pulled the suspension off sent it to a machine shop and had them check them to make sure everything was to spec. They replaced the bolts and I used the same components for another 2 years before I sold the car.

I can not vouch for these people enough and had nothing but good experience with them. Even after accidentally breaking something due to me installing it wrong they replaced it free of charge.

Sorry for the rant but I love Megan Racing.

they are definitely made in china at the same factory that makes D2,K-sport,BCracing,blackworks,godspeed the list goes on. the location of manufacturing means everything especially when the location ie china has absolutely no quality control or vigorous safety qualifications as opposed to japanese, european, american suspension components.

No but megan inspects the products when they arrive at the facility. Whatever doesn't make the cut gets scrapped. I have visited the Megan facility in La puenta and its amazing. I guess it comes down to opinion but I have put my parts through hell and never had a problem.

they ''inspect'' what does that mean some guy named bob looks at it and goes ''looks good to me'' then throws it in a pile. its not a matter of opinion its known fact that megan and all products that come out of BOR-CHUANN ENTERPRISE factory in china are of sub par quality internal and external. the funny thing is you can personally order these same coilovers from bor chuann in any color combo you want name them whatever you want and sell them on ebay with all the others.

Lol alright. Until you actually visit the facility and look at all of the testing they do on their products I don't really think you can rightfully say that they "get thrown into a pile" When I was in school (automotive performance engineering) I got to visit the campus and see some of the mechanical testing they do to their products. I'm not saying it is game changing or that it is different that what BC does, but Megan does have strict quality control. That also being said not everything that comes out of China is ****. Megan orders some parts of their assemblies from BC (which is actually in Taiwan) and does quite a bit of custom fab to the parts once they arrive at their location.

''some parts'' lol there completely identical to all the other suspension to come out of BC its all the same garbage. bottom line is there product is made in china that has no quality control or safty qualifications. im sorry but if megan as a company really cared about there product it wouldn't be insourcing there product from china to save a buck and would be designed manufactured and tested in california. if you want to use there strut bars or headers thats fine but i would never recommend megan or any other BC or chinese made suspension components these keep your car safely on the road and is not worth the chance of harming yourself or someone else.
