Default New battery goes dead.... need advice.

I have a 04 Accord (4 cyl). A month ago my battery was dying, so I bought a new battery. Now... I seem to have the same problem, but I have no indicator lights coming on. That is what puzzles me.

The one thing though (if it is related), is that my car never does really crank fast. Even after a night on the charger. Doesn't crank slow, but not super fast.

The other night, it started fine, I drove an hour to the mall, came out, and would not start. Cranked a few times, and battery is dead. BUT... fortunately, I waited 5 seconds, tried again, and caught. Started right up. (This is usally the case).

I don't understand why, if the battery is new, and I have no idiot light, that the battery does not seem to be fully charged? I stopped at AutoZone, and they used their meter to check the battery and the alternator and said both were real good. They said that maybe it could be the starter, but I don't want to just spend the money to shotgun.

I would appreciate any thoughts or advice. Thank you in advance.

Welcome in,all indications are that the starter is going bad,I had the same problem on an f350 truck a few years ago and it turned out to be the starter.

Thank you for your advice. I have been asking around, and everyone seems to be pointing to the starter, so now I will have to try and find out if it is possible to replace the brushes or if I have to just bite the bullet and get a new starter. Thanks again, I appreciate it.
