Default oil smell

Hi, i have a 92 accord with 86K miles. runs perfect, took a 1500 mile drive last week and noticed a smell of oil when the car sat still. I checked the oil during the complete trip, always showed full, but I noticed that if it sat,ie refueling, I had 2-4 drops of oil under the car, but only on the right side. I can not see anything visual from the top side or on the side of the engine, any tips or comment are welcomed. FYI, the car was my mother in laws and she only took it to Honda from day one, this is a truely Honda serviced car...

Thanks Darryl

If it is always full and it doesnt seem to affect the the performance of the vehicle then there shouldnt be any problem.

Sometimes, driving so much on a vehicle would cause heat, with heat would cause pressure. A couple of droplets of oil is not big deal it is just relieving some pressure.

Hope this helps

i normally buy my parts here and have my local dealership install it. Its much cheaper and these guys are awesome.

get under the car and poke around with a flashlight and a clean rag. it could be as simple as a slightly loose drain plug/oil filter (happened to me). or something major. and keep tabs on your oil level.

welcome to the forums.. yes like matimar said it could be something simple.. he mentioned the oil drain plug and oil filter, but also check the bolts and nuts that attach the oil pan to the block.. it is very easy for one or more to loosen up or fall out and start a very small leak
