I JUST REPLACED THE CAP, ROTOR, AND COIL ON MY 1991 HONDA ACCORD EX 2.2...NOW THE CAR STARTS BUT IS VERY ROUGH AND WILL NOT IDLE CORRECTLY...I ALSO CHECKED THE TIMING BELT TO MAKE SURE IT DID NOT SLIP OR JUMP A TOOTH THAWAS FINE....I'M AT A LOSS AS WHAT IT COULD BE......

 

welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay. are your spark plugs in good condition, are the spark plug wires tested good.Are the wires in thecorrect rotation with the firing order.Did you disconnect the wires at the sparkplugs? When pulling the wires off the cap, the carbon in the wires may have come apart.

 

thank you for the respone...it turned out that the distrubtor needed to be replaced the gear inside was all screwed up.....
