Title. Drove to work this morning and had no issues as far as performance. I went to leave work and car cranked over as usual but wouldn't start. I couldn't hear fuel pump engaging so removed rear seat and tested pump. Pump is in fact moving fuel. Checked spark on one of 6 plugs and we are in fact sparking (at least at that plug). Not sure what to check next so I came here. Some back story, car is in great shape and typically runs like a dream. 155k miles. Car was at some point in an accident and a shoddy repair was made at the fuel filler tube. Big hole and some duct tape. Any time it would rain, water would splash everywhere and get sucked into fuel system. This caused SEVERE misfire so much so that I wouldn't drive it. Flashing check engine light, TPMS, AND power steering light. Indicative of major system failure. It would idle awfully and just be bogged down with little to no torque. Anyway, I fixed that and haven't had an issue since. It's rained 3-4 times since repair. Today it was pouring on my way to work and car ran with absolutely no problem whatsoever. Get in to leave work and she just turns over and over and over. I fear we may very well be COOKED, but any help would be appreciated. TIA

 

We need to make sure the pump is 'moving fuel' at proper pressure. Sparks need to be 25K at least. How are you testing these things?
