Default Strange RPM behavior

Hi all,

I have a 2010 Accord LX with an automatic transmission and 75,000 miles. Occasionally, the RPM will progressively start going up by itself to somewhere between 3,000 and 3,500 and stay around there for a few seconds, all without any driver input. It feels like there's less power during this time, but the speed on the speedometer isn't affected.

I've noticed that this tends to happen in similar location scenarios, usually when I'm going downhill and have to hit the brakes suddenly. If I pump them I can usually avoid this, but if I press and hold the brake pedal it sometimes does this. I can't say that this is the cause, but that's when it seems to happen the most often. I had my local Honda dealership look at it, and they couldn't find any issues, but I'm worried about harming my engine.

Recent maintenance includes oil changes every year (3,000 miles per year) and an automatic transmission fluid flush with DW-1 2,000 miles ago. I'll add that I've experienced this issue before the transmission flush was performed as well.

I'll also add that there are no warning lights on the dash, none actively and none when this happens.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

this may be your grade logic control at work, down hill the engine revs up to help slow the vehicle down. no brake or gas pedal.

Just watched a video further explaining the grade logic and that definitely sounds like what's going on here. Didn't know that our cars had a feature like this. Thank you!
