Default sunroof drain tube too short?

My wife's 98 Accord has a strange problem. Rain came in to the driver's footwell, and I discovered that the sunroof drain tube was disconnected and draining on the floor. The weird part is that the tube is too short to reconnect. We've had the car for over ten years, and there's never been repair work in this area. Could the tube have shrunk? I'm a little nervous about replacing it because I don't want to mess up the headliner. Has anyone seen this before?

any kind of plastic tubeing will eventually become brittle over time and break. i just replaced my wiper nozzle tubeing and my car is only 7 years old. don't worry about the headliner it comes off easy enough.

Take a piece of the tubing with you to the parts house and try to match it in the lenght you need.
