Default 1985 1.5 oil pan gasket

Hi all, Having a hard time sealing oil pan. On and off about 6 times with no luck. Torqued to 9 inch pounds as to spec. I pulled drivers side axle for more room. Having a hard time at the flywheel end mostly. Has anyone tried just RTV? Please help, the price of oil is killin me. Thanks, Crash_X

welcome to the forum. I have always used a lite coat of rtv when replacing gaskets, very light coat on both sides of the gasket, time consuming. also need to make sure the pan or cover surface is flat, they have a tendency to get warped at the bolt area due to tightening.

Welcome in,my thoughts was warped pan myself, you may have to replace the pan if RTV won't correct the problem.
