Question 2000 Honda Civic Key Won't Turn All Way Through To start

I have a 2000 Honda Civic Ex Coupe. When I plug in my key, I could turn it a little bit but not all way through to start it. So I need to take it off and wiggle it again. Then earlier I was driving in Jefferson ave. and my car just stopped while driving. I tried restarting it but the key won't turn and I can't take it off. Was about to call to be towed but some guys helped me out and told me to turn off my headlights and put my gear to neutral (from drive) and then I was able to take me key out and started my car.

Any ideas what is wrong with my car?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Your ignition switch may be worn out. If you carry a lot of extras on your key this can cause the switch to ware out.
