2001 Honda Civic EX having brake problems.
I just took my 2001 Honda Civic EX to the mechanic to check the breaks. I've never had any warning signs of anything being wrong, but I was told that the rear wheel cylinder needs to be replaced because there's a leak. I don't know if I should believe it. How would I know?
Also, my brakes have been squealing (since I got them replaced) when I step on the brake lightly and even after I let it go, but stops squealing as soon as the speed goes past about 20-25 mph. The squealing also stops after I press on it a little harder. What could be the problem?

welcome to the forum. Brake squealing is from dust accumulation. you can blow it out with an air gun if you take the drum off or the front rotor thru the wheel, or shoot water on both the front and back. ( back has to have the drum off ) make sure all the brakes are cold. and allow to dry off good.
