Default 2002 si timing belt slipped time

My 02 si timing belt slipped time the other day shooting a piston and destroying my motor. Any opinions on what to do? I have my insurance agent estimating what it will cost to fix. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT TO DO?

is it an american SI hatchback or is is a EX either way its obviously going to need a new engine so unless you can do the repair yourself your looking at $4,000 to $5,000 in cost.thats mainly labor considering you can pick up a used engine for a couple hundred bucks. insurance will not cover mechanical problems only damage sustained from an accident.

Welcome in,what you might do is contact the shop you do business with and see what they would charge to install a used motor before you buy one,if like Lowlife says the bill amounts to 4K or 5K look for a good used car ,there are plenty of good used Hondas out there.
