Default torn upholstery on sunroof sliding panel

I have a '98 Civic EX with a sunroof, and the upholstery on the panel that slides back is torn. Every time I open it, it gets worse, because it gets caught on the edge of the hatch to the sunroof (not sure if I'm using the correct terminology). I'd like to use some kind of adhesive to keep the liner from further deteriorating. Any ideas? Thanks

you can use 3M super trim adhesive spray http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...gl43V9HPSW7Gbl but because your liner has a foam backing just spraying new glue will not last very long with repeated use. your going to want to remove the door and scrape off all the foam with a wire brush then buy new foam backed material. you can find this material online very cheap they also sell this material at large fabric stores.

Welcome in.The sunroof assembly has to be removed from the car before the shade can be removed.
Start with the sunroof glass, put the glass in tilt mode and remove the plastic covers hiding the bolts. Mark the bolts with white out so they go back where they were, remove the 6 T25 torx bolts. Push the glass out from the top and remove the glass. This should allow you to remove the shade

Thanks a lot. I'll try the adhesive and see how it works.
