Default 2015 civic ex - Rodent Chewed Alternator wiring, Help Please!

Yesterday I started my wifes car and an error "check charging system" came up. After looking under the hood we noticed a whole section of wire had been chewed and removed by something. I am trying to figure out what this piece of wire would be called and if it is a vital piece or if we are OK to drive the car to the dealer. We have been able to find replacement plugs with a section of wire for 40-80 dollars, but nothing from an OEM honda site, just ebay or 3rd party becasue I can't find the honda part # for it. I was wondering what this wire is called and what its function is so I can tell the dealership. And is it safe to make the drive without that wire (ive been told its not a charging wire so shouldnt effect alternator but will cause a reader error). Dealership is unfortunately a 2 hour drive and it would be tough to get it towed all the way there. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Section of wire that is gone, chewed down so almost nothing left, not enough wire on the plug end to splice it together.
