What would cause a wire to burn?
Too much current running through the wire
Or, resistance along the wire increases to causes heat to build up on the wire
Resistance can be in the form of rusty contact points or a little distance between contact points
The rusty contact points make for high resistance and the current that runs through makes it hot til it burns
The gap or little distance between contact points makes the electricity jump the gap
The spark causes heat to build up and then burn the wire
Too much current? If the fuse doesn't blow then it is probably a short somewhere after the fuse.
