Default 93 civic VX questions

Just bought a Vx and have some issues that i'm hoping to resolve. The idle is slightly rough, and coughs occasionally when accelerating. Also whenscrew the idle adjusting screw higher and then rev the car the rpms dont wannacome downuntil i screw it back to the low idle. (btw what should the idle be for a 93 stock VX?). I tried checking for vac leaks and cleaned the IACV. Looked for the FITV to clean it and didn't know how to locate it. My other problem is my horn isn't working, it just makes a click sound; where is the horn located?

The first thing you should do is pick up a manual wether its a Haynes or Chilton's or if you want to go all out get a Honda repair manual. This will help you a lot. It's good to be on forums but sometimes the answers just aren't fast enough. Use the search feature also on the forums some else may have had this problem already.

Most Civics idle is supposed to be roughly 800 rpm give or take a little. If the car seems to coughing as you put it. You may want to condsider doing a full tune up. Plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fuel filter, and air filter. Depending on the mileage and wether or not there is record of it timeing belt, water pump and timing belt tensioner.

Your horn sounds like it needs a new one go to NAPA or another parts store pick up an universal and replace it.

Hope this helps a little
Good luck

800 rpm is optimal idle range, and as for the coughing/bogging I would first check your spark plugs/wires.
