Hello all, I am rather foreign to this car, it is my wifes. The transmission is shot and I was wondering if anybody had any input. Rebuilt ones seem to be around $1800. I was wondering if I would be better off buying one of these low mileage used ones for around 500. Anybody an expert on these? Any help appreciated.

 

I've done this to an escort, found a good used trans for 75.00 used on a 1/2 sale day and put it into my escort, worked perfect, sold car 1 yr later, till shifting good.
