Default 96 civic just died...

I got in my car the other day, started it up, drove up to the mail box, got back in my car and went to leave. I got to the stop sign and as I started to leave the car die. No signs of trouble previous to this.

I KNOW- the fuel pump is working and it is getting fuel and I also know that it is NOT getting spark. This leaves me to believe it is something in the distributor.

Does this sound more like a coil going bad or an Ignition Countrl Module?

I suppose when I get a free chance I can check the coil for the ohm output but I don't know when that will be.

depending on where you are get the car running and take it o an advance, o'rileys or wherever get them to do a full load test and they can tell you where your problem is coming from in about 2 minutes.

Also check to make sure the belt is still in good condition. And the coil/ignitor is probably going bad. Make sure you have power into the distributor also.

It has a burnt smell under the dist. cap. I will be replacing the ICM as these are a common problem with Honda.

It will not run, just turn over.
