Default Cold Air Intakes

Alright so I got an 09 Civic Si Cpe. My knowledge about cars is limited.. but Honda is all I've ever owned. I just bought an AEM Cold Air Intake to put on. And just want to get some peoples opinions. Will a Cold Air intake increase/ decrease the longevity of the car? Other than the chance of water some how getting sucked all the way up the pipe, is there anything I should be worried about or need to be aware of in being harmful to the car?

first thing is to ask your dealer service manager if installation of the cold intake will void your warranty in the event your engine blew up for no reason. the cold intake will help your engine to breath in better, besure to keep the air filter clean. If you have the cold intake that almost reaches the ground, it is a better one than the one that takes the warm air from the engine compartment. The water goes up if you dip deep into a large amount of water. Some cold intakes have a water bypass. the intake does not prolong the life of the engine, nor does it shorten the life. just good breathing in.
