i got a 1991 crx hf and it got wrecked two years ago but engine was running fine then. now i have finnally got aroung to fixing it. but can't get the engine to fire up it will turn over but nothing else i bought new plugs and wires. but that didnt help. i took a plug wire loose w/a plug on it to see if it was sparking but it wasn't. maybe i need a distributor cap an rotor button ?how could i tell if fuel pump is bad ? car sat outside w hood off for 6months.

 

OK, so you actually have 2 problems with it now?
Your post says no fire, yet in the body you ask if the fuel pump is bad
You gotta have 3 things for it to start and run, spark, fuel, and compression, eliminate any one of these and it ain't gonna start or run, period.
Sat for 6 months? Fuel you using any good?
Go back to the basics and fix any of the 3, or all of them

 

i just asked about fuel pump cause i didn't smell any gas when i was trying 2 start the car repeatly. i know for sure it isn't getting a spark cause i took 1 of the wires loose w/ a plug on the end and sat it on the block and tried to crankit to c if it would spark on the end and it did no0thing

 

ok heres my thought iv never seen gas go bad in even a year were it was to the point that a car couldnt run off it chances are water got in your distributor so i would get another one there spendy so i would check cregslist and stuff im real sure after that it would run cause i left the hood open when it rained and 600 dallas later finaly learnt my lessin and if you want to check first if its a gas issue put some in the intake and turn it over be careful too much and a backfire and you have the worlds sportiest marshmellow

 

ok update: i have sprayed starter fluid and gas in the intake Now the car acts like it wants to crank. so i am guessing it is the fuel pump or maybe the main relay i am focusing on those to items unless the is a better solution
