how do i find out what motor is in my car? its a 1997 civic 2 door. i know its a 4 banger but is it a HX, GX, DX, VP, LX, D16? im buying a tubo kit off EBay and need to know this

 

you can check the vin # infront of your windshield. wikibooks.org will give info to decode also wikipedia will also help. on the motor from the drivers seat the nbr is front of the block right side under the exhaust area.

 

The two door is usually a HX or an EX model.....but both are D16's

 

in 97 the ex,dx,lx are on the back of the trunk marked.
