Question Intermittent starting problems

Hello all I have 2002 accord se.I recently started having issues with it not wanting to start after driven a short ways until it sat for a while ,sometimes hours. I checked trouble codes. O2 sensors is only thing .That shouldnt keep it from starting , but I got them anyway.I cannot hear the fuel pump when i turn on the ignition. It seems that if i lift up on the key it starts .Can anyone give me direction so I dont start replacing things that don't need replacing.thanks

the primary oxygen sensor regulates your air/fuel ratio and can most definitely be the culprit. don't use anything other then DENSO or NTK o2 sensors. a cold oxygen sensor dumps more fuel till the sensor warms up so starting your car cold is probably the reason its doesn't have a problem as apposed to starting it hot.

Smile So far so good.

Thanks for the advice,lowlife9, I had doubts to whether an O2 sensor could be the cause. With your explanation it makes sense that it could. I'll post how things work out. I'll let my mother know that sometimes it is beneficial to listen to a lowlife.

Default Not the problem

The O2 sensors seemed to fix the problem, or maybe it was coincidence. It ran fine until today, it just gave out on the freeway. A friend was driving it. She said it just died and would not start again. Could not hear the fuel pump, Im thinking maybe the main fuse going out. Would it work sometimes when starting to go out?

that sucks its so difficult to diagnose problems like this over the internet without being there. i guess if i was you i would look into the main relay and check for fuel pressure, fuel pump and filter. if the fuel pump is not working correctly or the filter is clogged then it would cause problems.
