Question K&N SRI with AEM Filter?

Hey guys,

Posted a while back on a similar subject, but as this title implies, would it be alright to buy:

69-1019TS - K&N Intake Kits, Performance Intake Kit

But switch the filter with a Dryflow filter by AEM? Somebody mentioned there's a possibility for oiled filters to damage MAF sensors if over-oiled.

Thanks.

you could but that would just be a massive waste of money. why wouldn't you just buy a complete AEM system ???. fiy those heat shields dont do jack not to mention short or cold air intake gain you nothing really. if i was you id buy the cheapest intake on ebay i could find like HPS and ad on the AEM filter.

98% of cold or sri intakes are just plastic or aluminium tubes thats it a tube. the one thing you must do if you buy a ebay intake is change the filter out for name brand.

So according to these comments, couldn't I just find the diameter of the intake inlet and just buy aluminum piping and make my own ghetto SRI?

yes you could because thats exactly what ebay intakes are. the name brand ones are dyno tested and actually have R&D but the outcome between ghetto and name brand would be the same. the higher quality intakes would have better bends and fitmeant along with better bungs for air temp sensors. but like i keep telling you just buy a cheap egay system and put on a AEM filter because the filter is the only thing that actually matters.
