Default Manual 97 Civic Handbrake light keeps going on and off while driving

Hi

My Manual 97 Civic Handbrake light keeps going on and off while driving.

I checked the hand brake it is completely disengaged.

Is this a sign of sensor gone bad or something else?

Thanks
Kevin

I'm relatively new to Hondas, but my Volvo V70 T-5 had that happen, and it was related to the ABS Module somehow. Do you have ABS? If so, anything else funky happening, speedo going out every once in awhile...

The check engine light comes on mostly when you have bad gas tank cup,or you don't tight enough the gasoline.Go to any auto-zone and request the obd scanner,at no charge just leave your driver license or credit card, connect the scanner follow the instructions. They will check up and the check engine light will come off in the next 3 to 5 days.

I don't think the scanner will help with a brake light, another possibility if the fluid level is right would be the master cap itself,my light would come on and would go off if I removed the cap and replaced it so I tried a new cap and have had no other problems.
