Default Motor/Tranny Mounts

I have a 1998 Honda Civic EX. I was recently told by a mechanic that I need to replace my motor mounts (not sure if all need replacing) and transmission mount. If I wait or fail to do this what kind of damage am I looking at? Just feeling a vibration in the steering wheel?

Thanks.

welcome to the forum. You will get a lot stronger vibration, the engine will rotate more during acc, and slow down, if there are any components close to the front frame or fire wall it may start to chaff. It may tweet the components attatched to the engine/frame.

I don't think your need all your mounts. The likely hood of all your mounts going at the same time are slim to none. And on your generation of Civic I would almost bet the only one that needs replacing is that annoying one down by the A/C on the driver's side. I call it annoying cause in order to replace your A/C belt it has to be taken out and nine times out of ten its tore up. The top mount on the Driver's side almost never goes bad. The only other mount that I could see having a slight problem is the mount on the front of the tranny they are a little squishy. The one in the rear though almost never goes bad.

I would get a second opinion. or have that mechanic show you what is going maybe have a friend with you who might have a clue.

Default Where is front left MM??

What's that one called (driver side)? Is it Front left? I need to replace my front left, but I am not sure which one that is. Left always means driver's side??

Thank you

any time the talk about the left side of the care it would be the driver's side. Everything is based off of if you are sitting inside the car.
