Power window problem 98 Civic
The passenger side power window quit working the other day. I checked the fuse, it is okay. I bought a new motor, plugged it in, it does not work either. I tried plugging the electrical lead for the power door lock into the power window, just for kicks, and when I push the door lock button the window starts to go down. So I know the motor itself is okay. I bought a 12v tester. The light comes on when I push the button to roll the window down, on both wires. I am very confused. Fuse is good, motor is good, switch is good... what could the problem be? Any help greatly appreciated!

welcome to the forum slilley92: enjoy your stay,if you have power to the window switch on one side and you actuate the switch and does not work, seems to me the switch may have gone bad. motor is good you tested that already, You did say you used the door lock switch to test and the window went down

RE: Power window problem 98 Civic
Thank you for your reply! What doesn't make sense to me is, I am unable to make the passenger window go down using the neither the passenger side switch nor the driver side switch. The driver side switch does work to operate the driver side window. Does this mean both switches are bad? That seems unlikely.
