pre-mature gas light

My 2010 Civic (LX) has a 13.2 gal fuel tank, but when I fill it up completely after the gas light kicks on, it only takes ~8 gallons. Is this abnormal?

welcome to the forum. fuel light should go on with approx 2 gals of gas remain. yours does go on too early.

Way to early,you may get Honda to reprogram it in your pcm.
