I recently purchased a 01 civic ex, they guy said he just replaced the motor which runs great. the problem is the transmission with only work about 30 sec to a minute now. seems like after it warms up it no longer will engaged in gear. I know the ID on car says made in Canada, I'm wondering if the motor he put in was a Japan motor and they just don't communicate or if its a filter or something like that. Any help will greatly be appreciated.

 

welcome to the forum ask the previous owner what type of trans fluid he used to service the trans. If he used anything else but Honda trans fluid, the trans may be no good.
