Default Shifting Problems with 2001 Civic

I am having problems keeping the car in 5th gear. It keeps popping out everytime I accelerate. I also am having problems putting it in reverse. Is this a transmission problem or a clutch problem? Thanks!

welcome to the forums. I would say it is a clutch problem.. the reverse is more than likely caused my syncros they go out all the time in hondas.. try putting it in second then in reverse. as for the 5th gear issue its probably the pressure plate or the teeth on the clutch wither way i would just go ahead and put a whole new clutch assembly in as it will save you money in the long run.

LOL you can't use the girl excuse anymore there are plenty of girl mechanics and it's okay we weren't born with the knowledge we have we gained it by asking question. So anytime you have another question please feel free to ask we are glad to help.
